چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to develop a model for the activation of the gene responsible for the production of the cytokine interleukin 6, IL-6. This is motivated by experimental work that indicates that exposure to certain exogenous chemicals results in changes in cytokine production. In particular, exposure to both the widely used pesticide atrazine and the legacy pesticide dieldrin, still very much present in the environment, resulted in the reduction of the production of IL-6. We develop of model of twelve ordinary differential equations to model the effect of changes in transcription factor levels on IL-6 production rates and establish basic qualitative properties of solutions.

Polymorphisms of prolactin gene in a native chicken population and its association with egg production

The induction and regulation of broodiness is of the most important role of prolactin in avian species. The promoter region of the prolactin gene is an appropriate model for studying tissue-specific andhormonally-regulated activation of gene transcription. In this study, the association between prolactinpromoter region alleles and egg production in Fars native chickens was investigated. In total...

Piperine pre-treatment has immunomodulatory effects in hippocampal local model of demyelination

Introduction: Inflammatory processes has an important role in the Multiple Sclerosis (MS)’s pathophysiology. Therefore, hampering the inflammatory factors could be an effective strategy in MS treatment. Piperine (the main alkaloid of black piper) has immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. In this study the pre-treatment effects of piperine on the gene expression level of inflammator...

Activation of calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase II following bovine rotavirus enterotoxin NSP4 expression

Objective(s): The rotavirus nonstructural protein 4 (NSP4) is responsible for the increase in cytoplasmic calcium concentration through a phospholipase C-dependent and phospholipase C-independent pathways in infected cells. It is shown that increasing of intracellular calcium concentration in rotavirus infected cells is associated with the activation of some members of protein kinases family su...

O-15: Reduced Fertilization After ICSI and Abnormal Phospholipase C Zeta Presence in Spermatozoa from the Wobbler Mouse

Background: Failed fertilization after intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) can be due to a reduced oocyte-activation capacity caused by reduced concentrations and abnormal localization of the oocyte-activation factor phospholipase C (PLC) zeta. Patients with this condition can be helped to conceive by artificial activation of oocytes after ICSI with calcium ionophore (assisted oocyte activa...

Models of EFL Learners’ Vocabulary Development: Spreading Activation vs. Hierarchical Network Model

Semantic network approaches view organization or representation of internal lexicon in the form of either spreading or hierarchical system identified, respectively, as Spreading Activation Model (SAM) and Hi- erarchical Network Model (HNM). However, the validity of either model is amongst the intact issues in the literature which can be studied through basing the instruction compatible wi...

Study the Expression of marA Gene in Ciprofloxacin and Tetracycline Resistant Mutants of Esherichia coli

MarA activates two membrane dependent mechanisms of resistance to different antibiotics, such as ciprofloxacin and tetracycline, including promotion of outflux and inhibition of influx of antibiotics. Thus, MarA causes multiple antibiotic resistance phenotype. The activation of these mechanisms needs overexpression of marA. This could happen through mutation in marR. Thus, the aim of this study...
